prepare for your
appointment
arrive with clean, dry hair
For Haircuts: Clean, dry hair allows me to see how your hair naturally falls, which helps me create the most flattering cut for you.
For Color: Clean hair absorbs color more effectively. While it was once common to come in with dirty hair to protect the scalp, modern color formulas are much gentler. Excess oil or product buildup can actually prevent the color from penetrating properly.
choose the right clothing
Wear something comfortable, but avoid shirts with high necks, hoods, or delicate fabrics that can’t get wet.
High necklines and hoods are more likely to get stained during the color service or wet during shampooing. Any bulkiness around your neck also prevents your hair from laying flat during the cut, which makes it difficult to give a precise haircut.
bring inspiration photos
bring a few photos of hairstyles or colors you love—and even ones you don’t! This helps me better understand your preferences and ensures we’re on the same page before we get started. It’s best if you can source realistic inspiration photos that are the same base color and hair texture as your own, and are not AI, photoshopped, or a wig/extensions.
know your hair history
If you’ve had previous chemical treatments (color, perms, straightening, etc.), please let me know. This helps me choose the best approach to ensure your hair stays as healthy as possible during the color process.
settle in
If you’ve got a longer appointment, feel free to bring snacks or drinks. You’re also welcome to bring your laptop if you’d like to work while you’re in my chair! If you plan on attending any Zoom meetings, just bring your AirPods and keep in mind that color processing is time-sensitive, so I may need to pull you away to rinse your color. My goal is for you to feel as comfortable as possible, so whether you want to get some work done, read a book, or just scroll on your phone - I’m ok with that!
